Overview
ABFL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aditya Birla Capital Limited. It is registered as an NBFC and provides corporate loans, project finance, mortgage loans, personal & consumer loans, unsecured business loans, real estate loans, etc. It also has a wealth management business. Its portfolio stood at Rs. 93,523 crores as on September 30, 2023, with secured business loans, large & mid corporate, personal & consumer loans, unsecured business loans segment forming 39%, 31%, 21% and 10%, respectively of the portfolio.

Mr. Rakesh Singh (Managing Director & CEO)
Rakesh Singh is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Aditya Birla Finance Limited (ABFL). Rakesh has been part of the Aditya Birla Group since 2011 and has played a crucial role in driving the growth trajectory of both NBFC and Housing Finance businesses. He has more than 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, cutting across Banking and Non-Banking financial institutions.
Before joining ABFL, Rakesh spent 16 years with Standard Chartered Bank. He was the Head of Mortgages Business, India, and his last assignment with Standard Chartered Bank was as General Manager & Head of SME Banking, India and South Asia.
Rakesh has attended
advanced management programmes at Harvard Business School and the Indian
Institute of Management, Kolkata, and holds a post-graduation degree in
International Relations.
Mr. Deep Pal Singh (Chief Risk Officer)
Deep Pal Singh has been the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Aditya Birla Finance Limited since December 2021. He has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry across India and Africa – having worked across large Multinational Banks, Financial Conglomerates, and Non-Banking Financial Institutions.
He joined ABFL from Standard Chartered Bank, where he spent 22 years – starting with Credit Card and then moving to Consumer, Private, and Business Banking (CPBB) with roles across Risk and Business. In his last role, he was the Managing Director and Head of CPBB for Southern Africa (2018-2021), covering Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. He was instrumental in launching a Digital Bank in three markets in Southern Africa (Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe) and in digitizing the entire client on-boarding journey.
Deep is a management graduate with Advanced Management Certification from INSEAD, Asia Campus (Singapore) & Said Business School, Oxford University.
